NEW! One Minute Domain Auctions!
We all thought that Bido.com was crazy with their auctions only lasting an hour. Well it just got crazier with a new site that is offering One Minute Auctions. You heard it correctly, that is they sell domains only for 60 seconds.
DNKO.com, or DNKnockOut as some people like to call it, is the very first of its kind. They operate under a live auction format with a chat room and all. Basically every 60 seconds there is a domain name auctioned off simultaneously one after another. The domain names that they auction off are from people that obviously want to sell their domain names.
Anyone is allowed to list domains with DNKO.com. Creating an account is 100% free and comes with no attachments or strings. Although its free to bid and create an account there it does cost money to list names with reserves. Here is the price structure:
“Min Reserve: $1 - Max Reserve: $99 Price To Submit: $1
Min Reserve: $100 - Max Reserve: $999 Price To Submit: $2
Min Reserve: $1,000 - Max Reserve: $9,999 Price To Submit: $3
Min Reserve: $10,000 - Max Reserve: $100,000 Price To Submit: $25″
I have also heard plans of special auctions in the future like TLD sensitive auctions and theme auctions. Though the standard at the moment at DNKO.com is “every domain is accepted”. Think this was a good move for such a fresh platform.
This type of auction is a very fresh idea and has a bunch of potential. Some things i do not really like about include the short auction format, who would have guessed. I know its to automate things but it would have made it more personal and more in tune if they had a live auction with an auctioneer ect. This way the names would not be passed unless they have absolutely no interest what so ever. Hope this platform evolves and creates a niche with in the industry.
